RIKO MATSUYAMA
I hope that each person discovers the colors, shapes, and things they love, embraces their uniqueness, and shines in their own way—especially in a world that
often feels isolated and divided by individualism.
Rather than becoming disconnected, I want people
to come together, support one another, and build meaningful connections. With this in mind, I create works based on the theme of "individual uniqueness
and connection."
The central motif in my work,
the “Line-Shaped Object," does not have a fixed meaning or set rules. Since each one is drawn freehand, no two are ever the same. These forms are open to interpretation, shifting in meaning depending on the viewer and their emotional state at the time—something I wholeheartedly embrace.
As society becomes increasingly digitalized, I strive to convey a warmth through my work that only human hands can create.
